The
Law Enforcement Explorer Post is a cooperative effort between the Amherst
County Sheriff's Office and the
Learning for Life Programs/Boy Scouts of America. Its main purpose is to
expose interested high school students to a career in law enforcement. This is accomplished by the Explorer actively participating in ride-alongs
with deputy's assigned to the Field Operations, Corrections and the
communications center. The post also takes field trips to various law
enforcement sites such as the regional police academy, the State Forensics Lab,
and various federal sites.
