TRIAD is a partnership between the Sheriff, the Town of Amherst Chief of Police and Senior Citizens of Amherst County to respond to senior citizen safety issues, to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly and enhance the delivery of law enforcement services to older citizens.  The major purpose of TRIAD is to develop, expand and implement effective crime prevention and education programs for older community members.  This program also provides the opportunity for the exchange of information between law enforcement and older persons.

This program was initiated by the TRIAD.  It is a personal medical history showing doctor’s names, current medication, special conditions, and who to call if an emergency arises.  These cards are distributed by the Sheriff’s Office through the Crime Prevention Unit to senior citizens and others who have serious medical conditions regardless of age.
